Toy Program

2006 Toy Season
By Sally Casazza
The Holiday seemed to come and go quickly this year, in a flurry of applications, appointments, lunches, pick-ups, deliveries, barrels, bags, and personalities.

We saw a lot of new faces, Firefighters that had not helped before, and some who finally had the time. Be it because of their own kids getting older, or retirement. All were welcomed and very much appreciated.

We had our Chili Cookoff, Golf Tournament, Car Show, visit with NFL Alumni, Tom Sweeney’s Anniversary Event, Dancers, Bar Pilot’s Bike Give-A-Way, and Wind & Fire Event. There were countless community service hours put in by our local schools and churches. Our barrels were proudly on display in every neighborhood in San Francisco. We got a lot of Media coverage, and never lost perspective of what it is all about, the children we serve, and we are able to do it because of 798.

Santa’s Workshop On Wheels, got tagged during the time our fence was down with the construction going on at Mission Bay, but, with the help of an “Out of Work Artist”, we are back on track. Also, a big thanks to Bruce in the Ambulance Shop for keeping the “Sleigh” in running order, and Mike in the Fire Shop for taking care of our old trucks.

And finally, Best of luck to Dennis Kruger, Thanks. Happy New Year.
