A 798 Retiree Response to Prop. C Concerns
Updated On: Jul 19, 2012

Dear Tom,

I just want to thank you for the excellent explanation you gave regarding Prop C and congratulate you on its timeliness.

I was about to send a check to POB Committee of RECCSF to help in the lawsuit against Prop C without understanding the full implications of that action. Instead, I wrote a letter to the committee urging them to drop the lawsuit.

It is certainly logical to have the Plan 100% funded before we receive our 3.5% COLA. Why deplete it to the detriment of future retirees? We are so fortunate to have these pensions in this economy that we really do have to avoid actions that make us appear selfish, thereby increasing public animosity towards public employees.

In Solidarity,

King A. Strong
