On Monday, November 2nd, 2020, firefighter Matt Vann from Engine 1 suffered a traumatic brain injury while operating at a fire in the SOMA District. Matt remains at San Francisco General Hospital, where he is being cared for in the ICU by the spectacular neurotrauma team. 

Matt has been through 2 successful surgeries to alleviate pressure on his brain. He is a fighter and has been showing signs of improvement. 
To assist Matt, his 8-year-old son, and family, an internal account has been set up at the San Francisco Fire Credit Union.
