    A Spark That Lit a Huge Fire in the Hearts of Local 798 SF Firefighters

    Over 50 years ago, the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program started when a few local firefighters wanted to help some families that lost their homes and all of their possessions when a fire destroyed everything that they owned. These firefighters were inspired to help – so they decided to fix up a few bikes and delivered them on Christmas Eve to the homes of the children. This is when the SF Firefighters Toy Program was born.

    IAFF 53rd Convention Concludes With Executive Board Elections

    On the final day of the IAFF 53rd Convention, delegates cast ballots in three contested elections. In the race for 1st District Vice President, Uniformed Firefighters Association of New York Local 94 Vice President JamesSlevin defeated incumbent William Romaka by a vote of 13,419 to 1,609.

    The crews from San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) Firehouse 7 have been awarded the top 2015 Firehouse Magazine Unit Citation. The Unit Citation Awards—ranked for the first time this year—are part of Firehouse’s larger awards program, the Valor & Community Service Awards.

    Open Enrollment is your once a year opportunity to update health benefit elections for yourself and your dependent(s), including your one opportunity to either enroll or re-enroll in a Flex Spending Account ("FSA").

    Please note that all FSAs (individual and dependent) end automatically at the end of each calendar year on December 31st and require re-enrollment every year during the Open Enrollment period.

    Open Enrollment for the 2018 Plan Year takes place between October 1-31, 2017.

    The deadline for Open Enrollment is Tuesday October 31, 2017 at 5:00PM, only one week away.
